Obituary

Joseph W. Francis 88, of Chenoa passed away at 1:20 pm, Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac, IL.

At Joe's request graveside services will be 11 am, Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Pontiac with Pastor Edward Huddelson officiating. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa has charge of services.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac or the charity of donor's choice.

Joe was born April 2, 1922 in Odell the son of Joseph W. and Florence (Tissiere) Francis Sr. He married Sara Ruth (Roesler) on August 11, 1946 in Chenoa. She survives in Chenoa. His parents preceded him in death.

Also surviving are two daughters, Ann Francis, Sanford, FL; Fae (Mike) Morris, LeRoy; one son, J. Randy (Kathy) Francis, Chenoa; four grandchildren; Carly and Colin Francis, Miles & Mariah Morris, one sister; Kathryn Vitzhum, six brothers, Donald Francis, Glenn Francis, Louie Francis, Gene Francis, Clifford Francis and Clyde Francis.

Joe served our country in the US Army in the South Pacific during WWII from 1942 – 1946. He farmed in Eppards Point Twp. for 59 years. He was a school bus driver for Chenoa School District for over 30 years and worked for Eppards Point Twp. building roads and plowing snow for many years.

Joe was a proud farmer, who enjoyed sharing his love of farming with his family and friends. He was greatly loved and respected and will be deeply missed.
