Obituary
Colfax – Josephine Rausch, 96, of Colfax died March 5, 2009 at 8:25 am at McLean County Nursing Home, Normal.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00a.m. on Monday March 9, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Colfax with visitation one hour prior. Fr. Carl LoPresti will be officiating. Burial will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 1:00 pm at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Josephine was born August 19, 1912 in McDonald, MI the daughter of John and Margaret Steinman Ryan Her mother passed away and Josepine was raised by her father and Sarah Latus Ryan.
She married Kenneth F. Rausch on Feb. 14, 1942 in Chicago. He died March 30, 1959.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (James) Baumeister of Crestwood and Kathy Lee of Bloomington; grandchildren, Joseph (Elaine) Baumeister, Michael (Dyanna) Baumeister, Terri (Steve) Malmborg, Phillip (Angela) Baumeister, Heather (Pete) Klem, Noelle (Scott) Tongate and Shannon (Mike) Smeltzer; 16 great-granchildren; two sisters Rachel Soleski of Albany, NY and Mary Eileen Lawson of Spring Lake, MI. Josephine was preceded in death by one sister.
Josephine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colfax.
She was a Dietary Aide at Octavia Manor for many years.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Colfax.
