Josephine N. Vercler 85, of Chenoa passed away at 11:52 pm, Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.

Her funeral services will be 10 am, Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community Chapel, Chenoa. Burial will immediately follow in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa and one hour prior to services Thursday at the Chapel of Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.

Josephine was born December 9, 1925 in Pontiac the daughter of Edward and Barbara "Ella" (Garber) Kinsinger. She married John Vercler on March 26, 1944 in Chenoa. He survives in Chenoa.

Other survivors include her children, Robert (Linda) Vercler, Cullom; Tim (Sonia) Vercler, Gridley; Betty (Rod) McArthur, St. Louis, MO; Jeff (Monica) Vercler, Fisher; three sisters, Kathryn Bayston, Flanagan; Mary Chase, Portland, IN; Margaret Dell, Seminole, FL; one very special sister in law, Suzy Kinsinger, Las Vegas, NV; Eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one son, Roger Vercler.

Josephine lived her entire life in the Chenoa area, mostly in Pike Twp. where she raised her family, farmed and raised cattle with her husband. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star where she served in many offices including Worthy Matron several times. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Livingston County Home Extension. She had a passion for horses, dogs, and the farm all her life. She loved her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
