Joyce A. Barnes, 79, of North Fort Myers Florida, formerly of Fairbury passed away at 8:58 am Sunday August 9, 2026 at Gulf Coast Village in Cape Coral, Florida.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 17, 2026 at South Graceland Cemetery in Fairbury with Wayne Kurth officiating.

The family suggests memorials be given to Lake Arrowhead Business and Social Club in memory of Joyce Barnes c/o Debbie Quinn at 3026 Artesian Ln. North Fort Myers, Florida 33917. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce was born on October 11, 1946 in Illinois. She married Dale L. Barnes on March 4, 1967 in Fairbury. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2021.

Survivors include one daughter; Christy Barnes of St. Louis, Missouri, one son; Jason (Jessica) Barnes of Bloomington, Illinois, and her favorite grandson Cole Barnes of Fairbury, Illinois

Joyce was a Hairdresser in her earlier years and later worked as a Bank Teller at Bluestem Bank in Fairbury.

Joyce was an avid animal lover and loved to play on a good slot machine. She also loved to partake in crafting and participating in events at the Clubhouse. She was one of the favorite locals and will be missed by many.
