Joyce M. Ringenberg, 82 of Chenoa, passed away with her family by her side at 5:34 am, Friday, May 27, 2011 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the Chenoa United Methodist Church, Chenoa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 10 to 11 am Saturday also at the Church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of the arrangements.
The family suggests memorials be directed to Chenoa United Methodist Church, Chenoa or BroMenn Hospice.
Joyce was born June 7, 1928 in Pontiac the daughter of Emil and Reba (Hill) Masso. She married Melvin D. Ringenberg on August 14, 1947 in Chenoa. He passed away January 5, 2011.
Survivors include her four children; David R. (Chris) Ringenberg, Santee, CA; Frederick (Geri) Ringenberg, Rushville, IL; Robin (Steve) Tatum and Julie Ringenberg both of Pontiac, IL; one sister, Marilyn (Gene) Kauffman, Chenoa; six grandchildren, David A. (Linda) Ringenberg, Ann Marie (Reid) Smiley, Amanda (Kevin) Allen, Erik Tatum, Jordan Ringenberg, Danielle Ringenberg and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Dorothy Cullop, Gloria Weber and two great granddaughters, Hannah Joy Ringenberg and Grayson Allen.
She was a member of Chenoa United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and the Chenoa Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening, canning and loved spending time with her family and friends who will miss her deeply.
