Julia Lynne Gibson, 56 of Chicago, IL formerly of Cooksville died Saturday morning, January 17, 2009 at Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park, IL.
A Graveside service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Wiley Cemetery, Colfax with Pastor Wendell Wardell officiating. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Julia was born February 1, 1952 in Colfax the daughter of Jack E. and Madge (Tarter) Gibson. Her mother survives in Cooksville.
Other survivors include one brother; Mike (Peg) Gibson, Saybrook and one sister; Linda (Don) Sears, Lexington, five nephews and nieces; Robert (Sara) Sears, Brady (Toby) Hope, Kristy (Corey) Griffith, Rachael (Nick) Sandage and Michael Gibson, five great nephews and nieces, several cousins and her extended family the Bob Welch family in Melrose Park, where Julia spent every weekend.
She was preceded in death by her father and her best friend Dennis.
Julia graduated from Illinois Braille and Sight School, Jacksonville, IL in 1973. She was employed at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago for over 30 years and had resided in Chicago for the past 31 years.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to Illinois Heart Association or the Humane Society of Central Illinois.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Welch family for allowing Julia to be a part of their family for the past 29 years. She spent many happy vacations and holidays with the family.
