NASHVILLE, TN — Kalyn Michelle Jacobs, 40, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 2-4 PM at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa on October 3, 2026 followed by a celebration of Kalyn’s life at OB's starting at 6 PM.

Kalyn was born April 8, 1986, in Normal, Illinois, the daughter of Gretchen J. (Powell) Jacobs and Jerry R. Jacobs.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gretchen; her maternal grandparents, Joe and Marilyn Powell; and her paternal grandparents, Bob and Mattie Jacobs.

Kalyn is survived by her father, Jerry (Christy) Jacobs of Estes Park, Colorado; her sister, Karli M. (Tyler) Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri; her nephew, Lázaro; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She shared an especially close and treasured friendship with her Aunt Julie, Lee, and cousin, Lesley Brouillette.

From a young age, Kalyn developed a love of sports and country music, encouraged in no small part by her cousins Stan and Steve Albeck. That love of country music eventually helped draw her to Nashville, a city she fell in love with and was proud to call home.

Kalyn was a devoted Chicago sports fan and loved the Bulls, Cubs and Bears, while also proudly cheering for Michigan. She and her sister Karli especially shared a love for the Cubs — something that made attending Cubs games in St. Louis all the more fun while surrounded by Cardinals fans.

Kalyn found great happiness in the people and traditions that were part of her life. She especially looked forward to the family's Fourth of July gatherings, where being together, laughing and making memories meant so much to her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready with a “dad joke” — whether everyone else was ready for it or not.

She was also a valued and dependable member of the team at BizLibrary, where her dedication and reliability were appreciated by those who worked with her.

Nashville became a place Kalyn truly loved and was proud to call home. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her loyalty to the people and teams she loved, and the importance she placed on family and friendship. Those who knew and loved Kalyn will miss her deeply, but will carry with them the laughter, memories and traditions she helped create.
