Normal – Karen Haab, 81, of Normal, passed away at 8:40 pm, February 22, 2026, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Her funeral will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Grace Church, Normal. Pastor Ed Wright will be officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery, Bloomington.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 am, also on Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Grace Church, Normal or Heartland Church, Normal

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Karen was born October 2, 1944 in Fairbury, the daughter of William and Thelma (Siefert) Benway.

She married James L. “Jim” Haab on April 26, 1964, in Forrest. He died December 31, 2018.

Surviving are her sons, Jeff Haab of Normal and Todd (Dana) Haab of Bloomington; grandchildren, Kaley Haab of Bloomington and Mason Shepherd of San Antonio, TX; great-granddaughter, Cecelia Shepherd; sisters, Diane Lewis of Strawn and Sandra (Tim) Bradford of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Sharon Wade.

Karen was a member of Grace Church in Normal.

She had a strong love for her Lord, her family, and farming.

Karen touched the lives of many people with her love and friendship.
