Karen Ruth Houchin, 78, of Colfax, passed away at 10:08pm, January 26, 2019, at her residence.

Cremation has been accorded.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. Pastor David Heath will be officiating.

Friends may greet the family from 10-12:00pm, on Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the family.

Karen was born June 24, 1940, in Pontiac the 14 ^th child of D. Lance and Athia Irene Davis Jones. She married Charles McWhorter he passed away and she later married Clarence Houchin. He also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her daughter, Sherry (Jim Rasmussen) Sparks of Oregon; son, Steven (Sue) McWhorter of Colfax; grandchildren, Jayme (Albert) Denard of Bloomington, Trevin (Tabitha), Stevi Jo and Brice Malinowski of Oregon; seven grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Koerner and Tillie Harms; brothers, Leslie Jones and Keith Jones; and many nieces and nephews. Karen was awaiting the birth of a great-grandchild and a great great grandchild this year.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, five sisters and five brothers.

Karen was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Chenoa. She retired from Furrow Building Materials in Bloomington and most recently worked for Peace Meals.
