Colfax – Katherine Jean Taylor, 73, of Colfax, passed away at 6:30am, Saturday, March 8, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Colfax. Pastor Connie Frase will be officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.
Visitation will be held from 4-8:00pm, Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Barnes Jewish Hospital, Siteman Cancer Center or Ridgeview Athletic Boosters.
Kathy was born July 26, 1940, in Farmer City, the daughter of Maurice and Fontella Reid Fogal.
She married Glenn Taylor on June 2, 1963 in Weedman. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jason Taylor and Tim (Carla) Taylor both of Colfax and David (Karen) Taylor of Bloomington; grandchildren, Treavor Taylor, Ryan Wyse, and Addison Taylor; sisters, Patricia Yowell of Farmer City and Linda Hillman of Groveland; brother, Bill Fogal of NC.
Kathy graduated from Moore Township High School in Farmer City in 1958. She then graduated with honors from Normal Illinois State University.
Kathy taught at Octavia High School for two years. She then worked at the college of Business at Illinois State University retiring after 26 years.
She was a member of the Octavia/Ridgview School Boards for 8 years and was an EMT for Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association for 12 years.
Kathy was a huge supporter of Ridgeview Athletics especially the basketball program.
She was a loving wife and enjoyed traveling with her husband to Ohio and Branson. She loved her children and her grandchildren meant the world to her. She especially cherished her Friday lunches with her sisters.
Kathy was devoted woman of faith and read her Bible faithfully.
