Bloomington – The funeral service for Kathleen A. "Kay" Rust 90, of Bloomington, formerly of Colfax, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Park Hill Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Bloomington. Rev. Randy Perry will be officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the service Wednesday at the chapel. Entombment will be in Park Hill Cemetery Mausoleum, Bloomington. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
She died at 1:00 p.m. Sunday (April 29, 2007) at ManorCare Health Services, Normal.
Mrs. Rust was born June 29, 1916, in Chenoa, the daughter of Roy and Ida Naffziger Andes. She married Ellsworth "Bub" Rust on August 19, 1940, in Bloomington. He died on March 1, 2002.
Surviving are one son, Michael Lee (Lori) Rust, Bloomington; and one daughter, Nancee (Jim) Grimes, Camden, Maine.
Other survivors are five grandchildren, Cody Rust and Emma Rust, James M. Grimes, Kelli (Casey) Gildea, and Lisa (Juan) Lopez; and seven great-grandchildren, Tanner Gildea, Griffin Gildea, Aidan Gildea, Christian Gildea, Gabriel Lopez, Ronan Lopez, and Cain Lopez.
One sister preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rust was a homemaker and a former bookkeeper/secretary for the Octavia High School district in Colfax. She also was a former member of Colfax United Methodist Church.
Even though she will be greatly missed, we have faith she is reunited with her husband of 61 years who she loved very much.
