Fairbury – Kathy Poppe, 76, of Fairbury, passed away at 8:31pm, December 20, 2024, at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

Cremation has been accorded.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm, Monday, December 30, 2024, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.  Visitation will be held from 10-12:00pm also on Monday at the funeral home.

A celebration of life will follow on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 4-8:00pm at the Cooksville Fire Station, Cooksville.

Memorials may be made to the Livingston County Humane Society.

Kathy was born April 23, 1948, in Fairbury, the daughter of Lyle and Mary Ruth (Stephens) Ricketts. She married Don Poppe on December 12, 2003. He survives.

Also surviving are her daughter, Lori (Jay) Dietz of Naperville; son Mike (Cindi) Hibsch of Nashville, TN; step-daughters, Darci (Mike) Kirwan of Kappa and Dena Poppe of Bridgeview; grandchildren, Claire and Jack Dietz and Sophia and Tyler Hibsch; step-grandchildren, Jared Poppe, Zach and Hannah Kirwan; brother Steve Ricketts and sister Jan (John) Reis both of Fairbury.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Spencer Kirwan.

Kathy worked for Bluestem Bank in Fairbury and retired from PNC Bank in Bloomington.
