Forrest – Kay Rinkenberger, 87, of Forrest, passed away at 1:41am, January 31, 2024, at Piper City Rehab and Living Center.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be from 1-1:45pm, Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
Memorials may be made to Forrest Food Pantry or Transitions Hospice.
Kay was born August 24, 1936, in Fairbury, the daughter of William and Florence (Yoder) Schmidt. She married Robert L. Rinkenberger on February 11, 1956, in Forrest. He died December 19, 2021.
Surviving are her sons, Keith (Sue) Rinkenberger of Forrest and Richard Rinkenberger of Evansville, IN; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Hornickle of Fairbury, Bobbie Wenger of Bloomington, and Marilyn (Dick) Todd of Pontiac
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son.
Kay was a member of the Forrest United Methodist Church.
