Fairbury - Keith B. Klitzing, 65, of Fairbury, died February 26, 2007 at 2:03AM at his residence.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007, from 4-8:00PM at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Fairbury. Funeral will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 10:30AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with a visitation from 9:30-10:15AM. Pastor Tom Krieger will be officiating.
Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mr. Klitzing was born December 29, 1941 in Fairbury the son of Edgar and Lena Mehrkens Klitzing. They preceded him in death. He married Jeanne Barnard on May 3, 1964 in Chenoa. She survives. Also surviving are one son Brian (Jessica) Klitzing of Heyworth; one daughter Jennifer (Todd) Weber of Chenoa; four grandchildren, Gunnar Klitzing, Leah Klitzing, Paige Weber, one new grandson Cole Keith Weber born Feb. 27, 2007; one sister Adele Klitzing and Mother in-law, Eva Barnard, Chenoa.
Keith is a veteran of the United States National Guard. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church were he was also a member of the choir.
He is past member of Fairbury Pool/Prairieland Foundation and Fairbury Jaycees.
He is the current fire chief the Fairbury Fire Department. He has been a member of the fire department for over 40 years with 26 of those years as fire chief.
He is the owner and operator of Klitzing Welding in Fairbury.
Keith lived to love his grandchildren.
