Kenneth Charles Abels, 38, Forrest, died at 9:52 am Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 10:45 am Wednesday, August 26, 2026 followed by his funeral service at 11:00 am at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Pastor Daryl Evans will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. The family suggest memorials be directed to his family or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Kenneth was born February 23, 1988 in Fairbury, IL the son of Norman and Kathryn Hornsby Abels.

Survivors include his mother, Kathy and one sister, Sage (Wendy Gouchenaur) Abels, Bloomington.

He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Kenneth enjoyed fishing, playing Dungeons and Dragons and spending time with his golden retriever, Barney.
