Kenneth E Broquard

Kenneth E. Broquard, 95, Fairbury, died at 2:45 am Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Serenity Villa, Fairbury.

His funeral will be 10:30 am Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Paul Wier officiating. Burial will be in South Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday and 9:30 to 10:15 am Thursday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. The family suggests memorials be directed to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Mr. Broquard was born April 2, 1931 in Forrest, IL the son of Joshua J. and Marie M. Schmidt Broquard. He married Ruth Helmers on January 18, 1958 in Cropsey, IL. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2015.

Survivors include two sons, David (Kathy) Broquard, Sunnyvale, CA, Robert (Linda) Broquard, Fairbury, IL, one daughter, Susan (Jeff) Lorentson, Fishers, IN, seven grandchildren, Andy Broquard, Matt Broquard, Molly (Mike) Mellott, Melissa (Charles Pham) Broquard, Jennifer Broquard, Katie (Rodrigo Alonso) Lorentson, Kari (Matt Razzano) Lorentson, eight great grandchildren, Luke, Baylee, Bentley and Landen Mellott, Asher Broquard, Luca Alonso, Charlotte and Corby Razzano, two sisters, Margaret (Earl) Feucht, Princeville, IL and Doris (Larry) Cottrell, Chenoa, IL.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Ralph and Dean Broquard.

Mr. Broquard was a Fairbury High School graduate. He served in the United States Army in Panama. In 1963 Ken began his career at Edwards Soil Service and retired as President and General Manager.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Fairbury. After retirement Ken and Ruth volunteered for the American Red Cross going on many disaster relief missions, including the September 11th attacks. He also was a member of the Fairbury VFW and American Legion post.
