Obituary
Kenneth G. Gloyd, 94, of Colfax died at 9:04pm, December 27, 2012 at Asta Care Center of Colfax.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, December 31, 2012 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Pastor Greg Summers will be officiating.
Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax, where military honors will be performed by the Davis Kerber American Legion Post 653.
Visitation will be 3-5:00 pm Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the funeral home and 9:00 to 9:45 am Monday.
Mr. Gloyd was born May 30, 1918 in Lexington, the son of John S. and Jessie Greenlee Gloyd.
He married Janet Mae Dover January 10, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. She died February 22, 2008.
Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl (Larry) Poppe, Colfax and Julie Warthan, Vincennes, IN, six grandchildren, Janice (Jeff) Edwards, Cooksville, Brad (Teresa) Poppe, Lexington, IL, Jennifer Poppe, Austin, TX, Todd (Karrie)Worthington, La Porte, IN, Kayleigh Warthan and Erick Warthan, both of Vincennes, IN, and three great granddaughters, Sara Kate, Avery, and Claire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son-in-law, Rick Warthan, two brothers and one sister.
Kenneth was the owner and operator of Gloyd Trucking and he last worked for Alliance Grain.
He is a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII.
Kenneth was a member of the Colfax Christian Church and the Davis Kerber American Legion Post 653.
The family suggests memorials be given to the Colfax Christian Church or to Asta Care Center of Colfax Activities Department.
