Colfax – Kenneth William Hilgemann, 72, of Colfax, passed away on July 22, 2011 at his residence.

His funeral will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Fr. Carl LoPresti will be officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery were the Davis-Kerber American Legion Post #653 will perform honors.

Visitation will be held from 4-7:30pm on Monday, July 25, 2011 with a prayer service at 7:30. There will also be a visitation one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to Community Cancer Center, Normal or Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association.

Kenny was born December 13, 1938 in Normal the son of William and Anna Miller Hilgemann.
He married Bernadine Fackler on January 28, 1961. She survives.
Also surviving are, one son , Scott (Kathy) Hilgemann of Naperville; two daughters, Sheryl (Scott) Kelly of Colfax and Stephanie (Chris) Boutilier of Lakeville, MA; four grandchildren, Bryan Jackson and Sarah Kelly of Colfax, Nicholas and Claire Hilgemann of Naperville; step-mother-in-law, Ivy Fackler of Bloomington; sister, Wilma Armstrong of Sarasota, FL; six sister-in-laws, Louise (Don) Coffey of Bloomington, Regina (Eugene) Johnson of Gibson City, Dorothy (Lyle) Schopp of Heyworth, Verna (Don) Bett of Brentwood, TN, Connie Peters of Gibson City; two brothers-in-law, Dan Basinger of Prescott, AZ and Maurice Mills of Milford; 25 nieces and nephews.

Kenny was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kaitlin Jackson; one sister, Carol Basinger; one sister-in-law, Anita Mills; three brothers-in-law, Edward Armstrong, Joseph Fackler , and Kenneth Fackler; and two nieces, Cindy Armstrong and Adele Facker.

He is a veteran of the United Sates Army where he was an Aircraft Mechanic.

He farmed for 30 years in Colfax and Melvin areas and was a rural mail carrier for 28 years.
Kenny was an avid Cubs fan. He enjoyed sharing trivia and fishing.
