Kenneth E. Steele

Chenoa – Kenneth Earl Steele, 79, passed away at 3:32 pm, Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at his residence in Chenoa.

Kenneth was born September 15, 1947 in Estillfork, Alabama, son of John and Beluah Marcumm Steele. He married Marie Bogdamic, on July 7, 1971 in Scottsboro, Alabama. His wife Marie survives in Chenoa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and six sisters.

Other survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Susanne) Steele Jr., of Normal, IL, and Brian Steele of Clifton, IL, brothers; Pete Steele of Posen, IL, Rex Anderson of San Antonio, TX, four grandchildren; Brieanna (Nick) Oosting of Peotone, IL, Brian (Sara) Steele Jr., of Manteno, IL, Brandon (Brooke) Steele of Orland Park, IL, and Colton Steele of Normal IL, and 4 great grandchildren; Rayna Oosting, Cash Oosting, Willow Steele, and Rosie Steele.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Chenoa, from 9:00-11:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am, also at the church. A private family burial will be held at All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais, IL, at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Salvation Army.

Kenneth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chenoa and the NRA. Kenneth faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. He was a die-hard NASCAR fan, and a fan of all Chicago sports teams. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
