Kristyn Jean (Zehr) Ricketts, 45, Fairbury, left this life to enter the waiting arms of her Lord and loved ones at 11:25pm Monday, November 9, 2009 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the 1st Presbyterian Church, 101 East Elm St., Fairbury, IL with the Rev. Spencer Homan officiating. Interment will be in the Avoca Twp. Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, November 13, 2009 at the church and 9:30 to 10:15 am Saturday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be given to 1st Presbyterian Church, Fairbury, Dominy Memorial Library building fund or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Kristyn was born August 20, 1964 in Bloomington, IL, the only daughter of Richard W. and Dlorah J. Ward Zehr. She married Edward P. Ricketts on September 6, 1987 in Pontiac, IL. He survives in Fairbury.

They were blessed with two children, Anna Christine and Grant Edward Ricketts, both at home; her mother, Dlorah Zehr, Fairbury; brothers, Todd Zehr, Fairbury and Steven (Sherry) Zehr, Collierville, TN.

She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Zehr, one brother, Trent Zehr, maternal grandparents, Harold and Christine Ward, and paternal grandparents, Joseph and Alice Zehr.

Kristyn was a 1982 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School and received her Bachelor and Master's degree in Speech Pathology from Eastern Illinois University. Kristyn enjoyed working with all age groups. She had been employed at the Hammitt School, BroMenn Regional Medical Center and most recently Prairie Central School District. She also served on several professional boards.

As important as her professional life was to her, her most cherished hours were those spent with family and friends. She was greatly loved by her family and friends and her memory will live on in their hearts.
