Larry L. Corey, 68, Fairbury, died at 9:57 am Monday, April 13, 2026, at his residence, Fairbury.
His funeral will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor J.D. Buchenau officiating. Burial will be in Cropsey Twp. Cemetery, Cropsey with full military rites accorded by the Fairbury VFW and American Legion post.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Larry was born March 13, 1958, in Belvidere, IL the son of John W. and Delores Corey Sr. Larry was raised by his father, John and adoptive mother, Virginia Sharp. They precede him in death.
Larry married Connie Brucker on February 14, 1998, in Fairbury. She survives in Fairbury.
Other survivors include two daughters, Christina (Sesar) Chavez, Fairbury, Deanna Hamilton, Weston, one son, Eli (Madeleine) Corey, St. James, MO, seven grandchildren, Caleb and Calynn Chavez, Gabrielle, Charlene, Valerie and Savannah Hamilton, Ashton Corey, three great granddaughters, Isabella, Kensley Chavez and Serenity Dooley, two brothers, John W. (Phyllis) Corey Jr., and Jim Corey, both of Rolla, MO, one sister, Melody (Paul) Augsburger, Linden, VA, one sister-in-law, Sherryl Hartley, Rolla, MO.
He is preceded in death by four brothers, Terry House, Dennis Hartley Sr., Richard Hartley, and Bill Hartley, five sisters, Mary Lou Walker, Sue McCurdy, Ginger Finn, Linda Holbert and Sandra Welch, one brother-in-law, Harold “Jim” McCurdy.
Larry served in both the National Guard and United States Army (1976-1984) having been stationed in New Zealand, Somalia, Germany, Hawaii, Ft. Knox, Ft Benning and Ft. Polk. He obtained the rank of SP5.
Larry was employed at Nestle Beich, Inc and later Ferrero Inc, Bloomington for 39 years. He attended the First Presbyterian Church, Fairbury.
Larry loved and cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.
