Foosland – LaVerna Bosler, 96, of Foosland, passed away at 6:45pm, February 16, 2022, at her daughter and son-in-law's residence.

Her funeral will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation.

LaVerna was born January 21, 1926, the daughter of Earl and Inez (Hall) Nixt.

Surviving are her children, Wayne (Linda K.) Duncan of Springfield, MO, Earl Duncan of Neosho, MO, Dale Duncan of Neosho, MO, Linda (Bill Beckhoff) Duncan of Foosland, and Diane (Rich) Horn of MO; grandchildren, Melissa (Dennis) Collins, James (Amanda) Duncan, Daniel (Jamie) Cobb, Matthew (Misty) Cobb, Leland (Johnna) Duncan, Olivia (Jason) Smith, Cody (Cora) Duncan, Jessica Stahl, Ashlie Stahl, and Jon Stahl; 21 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Virginia Duncan; and brothers, Richard "Art" and Roy Nixt.

LaVerna was an electronics assembler for Hughes Aircraft, Fullerton, CA and retired in 1991 from LaBarge Electronics, Joplin, MO.

She was active in the Red Hat Group and a Knitting, Sewing and Crafting Group in Neosho, MO.

When her children were younger, she was active with the Boys and Girls Scouts, helping as a Den Mother and anything that was needed.

LaVerna loved gardening and tending to her flower gardens. She enjoyed puzzles, puzzle books, and embroidery.
