Lavonne L. Lanz, 69, rural Forrest died at 1:25 am Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at RML Specialty Hospital, Hinsdale.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest with the Ministers of the Church officiating. Burial will be in the South Apostolic Christian Cemetery, rural Fairbury.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Saturday at the church.
Lavonne was born February 16, 1940 in Silverton, Oregon the daughter of Paul and Lillian Kuenzi Staedeli. She married Elmer L. Lanz, on December 1, 1963 in Fairbury, IL. He survives in Forrest.
Also surviving are her children, Mike (Marsha) Lanz, Forrest; Troy (Kathleen) Lanz, Strawn; Lori Patton, Gibson City; Kristi (David) Slagel, Fairbury; Shelly Lanz, Hoffman Estates; Dana (Josh) Kafer, Fairbury; Damon (Lorri) Lanz, Fairbury; Lana (Joel) Brown, Forrest, four sisters, Irene James, Portland, Oregon; Hazel Carter, Salem, Oregon; Janice (Roger) Ifft, Fairbury; Joyce (Tom) Brown, Salem, Oregon, one sister-in-law, Lois Staedeli, Broken Arrow, OK and twenty one grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Earl Staedeli and two brothers-in-law, Grant James and Jerry Carter.
Lavonne was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest. She was a devoted wife who loved her children and grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be given to the Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury
