Lawrence "Larry" Reiners, 77 of Chenoa, died at 2:59 pm, Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Good Samaritan Home, Pontiac.
Funeral services will be 10 am, Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa; with Pastor Debbie Honegger officiating. Burial will follow in Chenoa Township Cemetery, Chenoa; with full military honors conducted by the Chenoa VFW and American Legion posts.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm, Monday, February 24, 2020 also at the funeral home in Chenoa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to Good Samaritan Hospice Wing, Pontiac.
Mr. Reiners was born November 12, 1942 in Chenoa; the son of William Harold and Mary Elizabeth (Ryerson) Reiners. He shared life with his best friend and love of his life, Sandy Meyer; she passed away on November 30, 2002. His parents and one daughter also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Steve (Wilma) Meyer of Gridley; daughter, Sharee (Dave) Wright of Normal; five grandchildren, Nicole (Grant) Lammers of Iowa; Skyler (Jessica) Meyer of Washburn; Alex (Amanda) Wright of Lexington; Lexis (Gage Tynan) Wright of Texas; Hunter Wright of Normal; five great grandchildren, Kylee Meyer, Eli Wright, Stanley, Timothy and Meryl Lammers and a special friend, Peg Sipe.
Larry served our country in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1963 to 1969. He was a truck driver for over 40 years and purchased 10 semis throughout his career. He drove truck for Ed Gentes Trucking, Chenoa; 14 years, Meier Trucking, Pontiac; 25 years, Franey Trucking, Champaign; 10 years. He enjoyed celebrating fourth of July activities, driving his semi in the parades of Chenoa and Towanda.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Good Samaritan Home, Pontiac for the outstanding care given to Larry and the family in their time of need. Larry was blessed with special friends, Barry Martin, Velma Owens, Marty Lane and Dale Kridner to name a few; the family thanks you for all the love and assistance you provided to their father.
