Colfax – Leo L. Schleeter, 82, of Colfax, died at November 3, 2008 at 2:20 am at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Visistation will be held on November 4, 2008 from 4-7:00pm at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.

A committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A Memorial service will follow at 11:30am at Wesbein United Methodist Church, Saybrook. Rev. Paulette Cott will be officiating.

Memorials may be made to Wesbein United Methodist Church or Community Cancer Center.

Leo was born April 19, 1926 in Colfax the son of Harry and Elva Sarbaugh Schleeter. They preceded him in death. He married Thelma Eyer on May 30, 1946 in Oceanport, NJ. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Mark (Susan) Schleeter of Moroa; one daughter, Melodee (Allan) Bielfeldt of Colfax; grandchildren, Bethany Bielfeldt of Normal, Ethan Schleeter of Chicago, Blake (Jennifer) Bielfeldt of Saybrook and Rachel (Mason) Sanders of Stillman Valley; one brother Hartzel (Jean) Schleeter of Rancho Cordova, CA. He was preceded in death by one brother.

Leo is a Veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII.

Leo Began Farming in 1947 in the Colfax and Saybrook area. He also was a plumber and general contractor from 1956-1995.
He is a member of the Wesbein United Methodist Church in Saybrook where he was the Sunday School Superintendent and a member of the Davis Kerber American Legion in Colfax. He was a Boy Scout Leader and a member of the Colfax Town Board.
