Forrest – Leona Inez Hoover, 53, of Forrest, passed away at 3:20pm, February 5, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Cremation has been accorded.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

Leona was born April 15, 1967, in Bloomington, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Smith) Moore. She married Michael Hoover in September of 1989, in Forrest. He survives.

Also surviving are her parents Helen and Joe Moore of Fairbury; sons, Michael and Richard Hoover of Forrest; brother, David Smith of Forrest; and nephews, Jr and Erik Smith of Forrest.

She was preceded in death by two uncles, Richard and James.

Leona was a cook at Piper City Rahab and Living Home and also worked in private homecare.

She enjoyed counter cross-stitch and collecting unicorn figurines.

Leona had a special place in her heart for her dog Lily "Angel".
