Leonard Vance – Colfax –
William Leonard Vance 79, of Colfax died April 15, 2007 at 3:20PM at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 from 4-8:00PM at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 10:00 AM also at the funeral home with a visitation one hour prior. Rev. Dan Jassman will be officiating.
Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax. Memorials may be made to Colfax Christian Church.
Leonard was born July 1, 1927 in Colfax the son of Webb and Stella Blundy Vance. They preceded him in death. He married Violet Mae Powell on January 25, 1947 in Colfax. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Rick (Ruth) Vance, Connie (Kent) Petersen, and Ron (Karen Munz) Vance all of Colfax; his grandchildren, Katie Vance of Bloomington, Jeri Vance of Plano, Sandy Vance and Kelsey Petersen both of Colfax; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Jacob Ridgeway; two sisters, Alice Welsh of Gridley and Gladys Jacobs of Lexington, and one brother Delmar Vance of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Leonard was a farmer in the Colfax area his entire life. He is a member of the Colfax Christian Church.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Leonard's sense of humor will be missed by all.
