Decatur – Lillian R. "Tud" Monahan, 95, of Decatur, formerly of Kankakee, passed away peacefully, February 27, 2009 in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Colfax. Fr. Carl LoPresti will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church. Burial will be in Cropsey Cemetery. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Lillian was born April 14, 1913 the daughter of Frederick and Rose Kerber Brucker in Cropsey. She lived for many years in Cullom where she was a beautician. She then moved to Kankakee in 1959, before moving to Decatur in 2003. Lillian was well known for her talent in designing and sewing all of her clothes.
She is survived by her only daughter Vi (Richard) Eggers of Decatur, two grandchildren Todd (Susan) Eggers of Decatur and Lori (Luke) Eggers Brown of Grand Rapids, MI, four great-grandchildren Todd and Aaron Eggers and Luke and Elison Brown, two sisters, Pauline Beyer and Helen Althouse of Gibson City, two nephews and one niece, Jerry (Janet) Beyer of Cropsey, Marty (JoAnn) Althouse of Melvin and Jeanne Kay of Winter Park, FL as well as several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Charles Monahan.
