Chenoa – Linda Lou Holt, 82, of Chenoa, passed away at 3:04 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. Burial will be in Chenoa Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Livingston Humane Society.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.
Linda was born July 25, 1942, in Pontiac, the daughter of Edward J. and Lois Mason Page.
She married Charles R. Holt on April 22, 1958, in Davenport, IA. He died May 12, 2003.
Surviving are her children, Gary Holt of Pacolete, SC, Jerry R. Holt of Strawn, Lynn Lloyd of Pontiac, and Charles Holt, Jr, of Graymont; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Patsy Holt of Pontiac, Terry Page of Plover, WI, Colleen Williams of Hillsboro, OR, Robert Page of Portland, OR, and Joyce Jenkins of Pontiac.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one daughter.
Linda was a very very special lady she was adored by many. A devoted mother who loved wholeheartedly she would do anything in her power to help in any of life's situations.
A lover of any and all animals, cats erer her favorite. She always had at least one or two house cats as well as numerous outdoor cats. Living in Weston people soon realized that if they left a cat anywhere near her she would feed, water, and even take it to the vet if needed. Her inside cats Precious and Kali along with the rest were completely spoiled.
Linda was a hard working woman. . She raised five children and worked full-time at Roof's Manufacturing. She was greatly respected for out-working some of the men. Later she went on to Diamond Star Motors where she retired. In her spare time she was up for anything. Camping, fishing, festivals, markets, yard games, board games, and card, Euchre in particular.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and even while in the hospital she had the nurses, techs and aides laughing.
Linda also enjoyed attending the Authentic Church in Pontiac.
To say that she will be missed greatly is a gross understatement.
She was an honest and hardworking woman who loved deeply. Her family and friends who were family were blessed to have a devoted mother and grandmother.
