Linda D. Shannon, 69, Fairbury died at 4:05 am Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her residence in Fairbury.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 24, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pontiac with Fr. David Sable officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Pontiac.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with a rosary to be recited at 4:30 pm. The family suggest that memorials be given to OSF St. Jude Children's Hospital, Peoria; St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, Pontiac; or the Livingston County Humane Society.

Mrs. Shannon was born August 30, 1944 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Patrick and Ada Virginia Johnson Lee. She married Rodney D. Shannon on August 31, 1963 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Alexis, IL. He survives in Fairbury, IL.

Also surviving is one son, Dr. Timothy (Janet) Shannon, Normal, IL, one daughter, Tamra (Daniel) Honegger, Tampa, FL, four grandchildren, Ryan (Erika) Shannon, Fort Campbell, KY, Caitlin Shannon, Carbondale, IL, Nicholas Honegger, San Antonio, TX, Abbey Honegger, Tampa, FL, four sisters, Patricia Boney, Rock Island, IL, Judith (Chester) Blair, Cincinnati, OH, Sharon (Kent) Mapp, Tipp City, OH, Nancy Wells, Lake Forrest, IL and one brother, Michael (Sylvia) Lee, Monmouth, IL.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one nephew.

Mrs. Shannon was a 1962 graduate of Aledo High School. Her vocations included certified nurse assistant, preschool teacher and working as an office manager for various doctor's clinics. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pontiac.
