Linda Arlene Steidinger, 68, of Fairbury passed away at 11:45pm Friday at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, peacefully with family members at her side.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, April 22, 2016 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Corrine Blissard officiating. Inurnment will take place in Brenton Cemetery, Piper City. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, April 21, 2106 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
Linda was born on May 8, 1947 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Ardle "Ben" and Mary Carter Hollingsworth. She married Fred W. Weighley on Nov. 7, 1963 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1979. She later married Robert D. Steidinger in Fairbury on Feb. 26, 1993. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2004.
Surviving is her only child; Donna (Steven) Weighley Folwell, Forrest, granddaughters Lindsay Folwell and Hannah Folwell, Champaign, brother, Billy Anglin, Fairbury, sister Jackie Felts, Chadwick, IL, sister-in-law, Paula Anglin, Oak Lawn, brother Michael (Mary) Hollingsworth and sister Jerry Hollingsworth both of Phoenix, AZ, her beloved cat "Smokey," and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Also surviving are special friends; The Richard D. Steidinger family of Chatsworth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-fathers; Raymond Anglin and Jack Felts, brothers; Ronald Anglin and Scott Anglin, and sister; Donna Baker.
Linda was a certified cook and shared her talents at local establishments; McDonalds' Family Restaurant, Meadows Mennonite Home, and Grandma's Home Cooking. She also catered many events.
She will be remembered for her talents in the kitchen, her pride and love for her grand-daughters, her friendship to many, and her wonderful sense of humor. She was a very generous person and would do anything for those in need. Linda had hoped to be an organ and tissue donor.
