Lloyd T. DeFries, 98, of Fairbury, formerly of Cropsey, died June 11, 2007 at 3:04PM at Fairview Haven Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 from 6-8:00PM at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Fairbury. Funeral will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 11:00AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sibley. Pastor Bob Kinas will be officiating. Burial will be in Sibley Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Sibley or Fairview Haven Nursing Home.

Lloyd was born Aug. 27, 1908 on a Sibley farm east of Sibley a son of Gerhard and Sadie Rath DeFries. They preceded him in death. He married Linda Meyer on December 12, 1930 in Sibley. She died October 16, 1995.
Surviving are two children, Les (Barb) DeFries of Sibley and Gwendolyn (Dale) Scott of Bloomington, eight Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, and one Great-Great Grandchild.
Lloyd was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and one grandchild.

Lloyd was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sibley where he served on the church council for many years. He was also a member of the Ford and McLean County Farm Bureau. He was a farmer in the Sibley, Cropsey, Melvin area his entire life.

Lloyd loved his grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with them. He was a farmer thru and thru and was a great friend and a neighborly farmer.
