Obituary
Lois Mae Abbey, 78, of Cropsey, died at 12:15 am Monday, July 9, 2007 at the Gibson Area Hospital Annex, Gibson City.
Memorial services will be 10:30 am Friday, July 13, 2007 at the Cropsey United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Lembke officiating. Inurnment will be at Cropsey Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.
Mrs. Abbey was born September 26, 1928 at Cropsey, the daughter of Edwin and Julia Huston Gee. She married James P. Abbey on December 10, 1947 at Cropsey. He survives at Cropsey.
Also surviving are her children: Sandy Mies, Fairbury, Bonnie Smith, Normal, David (Margaret) Abbey, St. Petersburg, FL, Lynette (Jeff) Weber, Watseka, Jeff (Rhonda) Abbey, Cropsey, Dawn (Roberto) Pagan, Bartonville, Julie (Tom) Saathoff, Cullom, Leslie Abbey, Normal, one sister, Lucy Elliott, twenty grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a brother John Gee.
Mrs. Abbey attended Miller country school, Cropsey Twp., she was a 1946 graduate of Cropsey High School, and attended the University of Illinois (1946-1947) having achieved the Dean's List both semesters. She also was a member of the Cropsey United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the Cropsey United Methodist Church.
