Anchor – Lois Bielfeldt, 96, of Peoria formerly of Anchor, passed away at 8:30pm, January 22, 2012 at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria where she has resided for 9 years.
Funeral for Lois will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor with visitation one hour prior. The Reverend Stephen Goodwin will be officiating with assistance from Pastor Paul Park.
Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church Organ Fund or Lutheran Hillside Village Foundation.
Lois was born August 12, 1915 in Anchor the daughter of William and Eva Austin Taylor.
She married Edwin Bielfeldt on June 30, 1935 and were happily married for 76 years. He died July 24, 2011.
Surviving are one son, Gary (Carlotta) Bielfeldt of Peoria Heights, one daughter, Kay (James) Lauritsen of Sarasota, FL, five grandchildren, David (Julie) Bielfeldt of Peoria Heights, Linda (Ted) Greene of Peoria, Karen (Jeffrey) Wales of Peoria, Debra (Jim) Pilcher of Burr Ridge, Kristi (Bryan) Cruwys of Hinsdale, and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
She farmed with her husband until 1978. After retiring, Edwin and Lois loved their winters in Florida.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Anchor, the Dorcas Society, and the Indian Creek Country Club.
Lois belonged to the W.B.C.C.I. Club since 1970 and loved to travel with her husband and their Airstream friends.
Lois was a loving mother and grandmother. She most enjoyed her time spent with her family. They will miss her greatly.
