Obituary
Lois LaVerne Martin 82, of Altadena, CA formerly of Chenoa passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Mountain View Estates, Altadena, CA.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 25, 2011 at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with Pastor Carrie Carnes officiating. Burial will follow in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 pm, Friday prior to the service also at the memorial home in Chenoa.
LaVerne was born March 31, 1929 in Chenoa the daughter of Fred L. and Myrtle (Myer) Seeman. Her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include two children, Todd (Denise) Nagel of Mill Valley, CA; Valerie (Michael Monaldo) Nagel of Walnut Creek, CA; one brother, Fred (Dottie) Seeman of Chenoa; two sisters, Arletta Klomparens of Mesa, AZ; Mary (Rolla) Colson of Streator and three grandchildren Dante, Dominic, and Marcus Monaldo.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (www.michaeljfox.org).
LaVerne graduated from Chenoa Community H.S. in May of 1947 and later graduated from Mennonite School of Nursing in 1950. She received her Master's Degree from the University of Michigan, School of Public Health.
