Anchor – Lonnie Bowman, 73, of Anchor, passed away at 5:50 am, March 27, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Cremation has been accorded. Graveside military honors will be performed at 11:00am, Saturday, June 14, 2025,  in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Lonnie Bowman was born August 2, 1951, in Bloomington, the son of Lee and Edwina (Redding) Bowman.

He married Serita Allan on August 16, 1985. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Lanessa (Rodney) Landau of Anchor, Landall (Michelle) Bowman of Danvers, and Leslie (JJ) Ballinger of Colfax; stepchildren, Tracy (Steve) Fisher of Foosland and Amy (Jason) Jolly of Colfax; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sisters Carol Stephenson of Colfax, Gail DeVore of Lexington, and Marcia (Jim) Walter of Merimac, WI.

He was preceded in death his parents and one sister, Sharon Bowman.

Lonnie was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Serving in Vietnam.  He was a member and the Sergeant of Arms for over 30 years for the Davis-Kerber American Legion, Colfax.

He retired in 2013 from the McLean County Highway Department.

Lonnie didn't know a stranger and, if you knew him you had a friend.
