Pontiac - Loralee "Lee" Wahls, 94 of Pontiac and formerly of rural Chenoa, died at 5:40 am on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Evenglow Inn, Pontiac.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Chenoa with Pastor Kyle Ronchetto officiating. Burial will be at Chenoa Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the funeral also at the church in Chenoa. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Chenoa or Evenglow Inn, Pontiac.
Lee was born September 20, 1929 a daughter to Theodore and Jeanne Hinds and was raised by her great aunt and great uncle, Laurence and Grace Tuesburg, from age 10 months old until adulthood. She married Vernon Wahls on December 5, 1948, in Pontiac.
Lee is survived by her two sons, John (Vera) Wahls, Bloomington; Jeff (Judy) Wahls, Chenoa; one granddaughter, Morgan Adams; four grandsons, Jafer (Chanel) Beizer, Logan (Laura Cromer) Beizer, Aaron (Kristin) Wahls, and Justin (Anna Lee) Wahls and six great grandchildren, Audrey Adams and Levi, Theo, Noah, John and Ellen Wahls.
Lee and Vernon were happily married for 62 years before he passed away on January 8, 2011. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her great aunt and great uncle, one son, Jerry Wahls, and daughter, Jennifer Beizer also preceded her in death.
Lee lived on a farm north of Chenoa in Pike Township during most of her married life and moved to Pontiac in 1981. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church since 1949 and loved gardening, writing letters and riding horses. Lee was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
The family would like to extend a special 'thank you' to the nurses and staff at Evenglow Inn of Pontiac and Transitions Hospice for their love and care.
