Lorena Faye Walker, 92, Colfax, died at 2:30pm Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Asta Care Center, Colfax.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Friday, March 23, 2012 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax with the Rev. Wendell Wardell officiating. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00pm Thursday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. The family suggest memorial donations be directed to the Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association.
Mrs. Walker was born August 4, 1919 in Clay City, IL the daughter of Lubert Barney and Gussie Faye Hardy Hamilton. She married George William Walker on June 12, 1948. He died on November 9, 1970.
Surviving is one son George H. (Sharon) Walker, Colfax, IL, three daughters, Connie (Gail) Ritchie, Colfax, IL, Cathy (Linus) Batterton, Stillman Valley, IL, Cindy (Warner) Eiben, Tuscola, IL, one sister-in-law, Erma Jean Hamilton, Fairbury, IL, eight grandchildren, Chad (Kara) Ritchie, Jay Ritchie, Curtis Batterton, Lisa Batterton, Sarah (Thomas) Jackson, Sandra Eiben, Tyler Walker, Travis Walker, two step grandchildren, Rob Teno, Jenny (Lance) Whitecotton, three great grandchildren, Addison Ritchie, Jackson Ritchie, Clayton Johnson-Ritchie, two step great grandchildren, Kyle Teno and Lauren Whitecotton.
She is preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Hamilton.
Mrs. Walker had worked as a nurse's aid at Fairbury Hospital during WWII and later as a cook at Octavia School. She also worked part time as a nurse's aid at Octavia Manor, Colfax. She was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church and her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and assisting with Girl Scouts.
