Colfax – Louise Baker, 88, of Colfax, passed at away at 6:05 am, September 25,2025, at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Her funeral will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, September 29, 2025, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.

Visitation will be held from 9-10:00 am, Monday, September 29, 2025, also at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Louise was born May 31, 1937, in Colfax, the daughter of Verne and Mildred (Brown) Wyant.

She married Laurence Baker on May 19, 1956, in Colfax. He survives.

Also surviving are her sons. Larry (Lori) Baker of Colfax and Lyle (Christy) Baker of Bedford, TX; grandchildren, Lindsey (Jon) Porter, Kendra (Dustin) Clifton, Jordan Wagner, Melissa Adams, and Jessica Dobosky; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Eileen.

She was a member of the Colfax Christian Church.

Louise was a hairdresser in her home for many years. She also farmed alongside her husband, running the corn picker and making field lunch, which was more like a field meal. She enjoyed quilting and donating her beautiful work to others.
