Wanda Louise Schmidt, 99, of Fairbury, passed away at 5:10 pm, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, July 11, 2014 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Floyd Blackard officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be 2 to 2:45pm, prior to her services on Friday also at the memorial home in Fairbury. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Fairview Haven Retirement Community.

Louise was born June 15, 1915 in Fairbury; the daughter of Dr. Emery and Sara (Smith) Fincham. She married Edward C. Schmidt on November 8, 1936 in Fairbury. He preceded her in death July 12, 2005.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, five brothers, two sisters, one grandson, Tace Meints and one daughter, Cindy Lou Feagley in June of 2014. Cindy will also be memorialized and interred at Graceland Cemetery on Friday.

Survivors include three granddaughters, Lacey (Michael) Huereca, Kendra (Paul) Yates, both of Clinton, AR; and Meggan (Will Jackson) Meints of Jonesboro, AR; nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Louise was a 1935 graduate of Fairbury Twp. High School and was employed as a sales clerk at Walton's Dept. Store, Fairbury for over 20 years. Mrs. Schmidt was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fairbury. Louise had a kind giving heart willing to do whatever she could to help those in need and all she loved.
