Lucille E. Moser, 88, Fairbury, died at 7:45 pm Monday, July 15, 2019 at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
Her funeral will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church, Fairbury. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:30 to 10:15 am Saturday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the First United Methodist Church, South East Livingston County Ambulance Service or the Boys and Girls Club of Livingston County.
Lucille was born February 1, 1931 in Ashkum, IL the daughter of Robert and Mabel Read Monroe. She married Dean L. Moser on April 29, 1951 in Fairbury. He survives in Fairbury.
Dean and Lucille have five sons, Stephen Moser (deceased) wife, Mary, Monclova, OH, James (Mary Ann) Moser, Zelienople, PA, Gary (Sheri) Moser, Fairbury, Mark (Glenda) Moser, Morton Grove, David (Sheila) Moser, Hinsdale, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, who brought her much joy.
Also surviving are one brother, Ronald (Sharon) Monroe, Cropsey, one sister, Helen Brown (deceased) husband, Dwight, Falcon Heights, MN.
Lucille was a 1946 graduate of Fairbury Twp. High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at Walton's Department Store and later she kept the books for the family business Moser and Son Mobil Service Station.
Lucille was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Fairbury singing in the choir for over 40 years. She was very active in her kids' activities ranging from cub scout den mother to class room mother. She was known as mom to all of her kids' friends.
Lucille gave back to her community. Over the years she could be found playing the piano at Fairview Haven Retirement Community or the Fairbury Rotary Club. She served as secretary of Meals on Wheels. Lucille was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her memory will live on through those who loved her.
