Obituary

Morton – Lucille, L. Steffen, 93, of Morton, formerly of Fairbury, passed away at 5:02pm, January 17, 2015 at Apostolic Christian Restmor, Morton.

Funeral will be held at 10:00am, Friday, January 23, 2015 at Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury. Ministers of the church will be officiating.

Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Church, Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be held from 4-8:00pm, Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, and 9-9:45am, Friday at the Church.

Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice or Apostolic Christian Home for the Handicapped, Timber Ridge, Morton.

Lucille was born August 26, 1921 in Rankin the daughter of Fred and Marie Bauman Schupbach. She married Emmanuel Steffen on March 31, 1946. He passed away October 10, 1998.

Surviving are her sons, Keith (Cathy) Steffen of Washington and Jerry (Elizabeth) Steffen of Miami Beach, FL; grandchildren, Tom (Tasha) Steffen of Morton, Todd (Nicole) Steffen of Scottsdale, AZ, Abby (Jeff) Kaufman of Morton, Ann (fiancé Jason Knapp) Steffen of Washington DC, Andy (Nicole) Steffen of Yorktown, VA and Manny (Sara) Steffen of Los Gatos, CA; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frieda Schupbach and Rosella Bauer both of Cissna Park.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Steffen on February 1, 1970, three brothers and three sisters.

Lucille spent her first eight years of school at a country school, followed by four years at East Lynn High School. After graduating she attended Dickens Bussiness School, Peoria.

She owned and operated with her husband, Steffen and Sons Lumber Company and Manny Steffen Realty both in Fairbury.

Lucille was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury and for the last 15 years she has attended the Apostolic Christian Church in Washington.

She was a great example of God's love to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love and wisdom were often shared in her many stories.
