Luetta Z. Cummins Moore, 96, a resident of Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury and formerly of Forrest died at 2:45 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 at Fairview Haven.
Luetta was born November 14, 1910 in Roberts, IL, the daughter of Samuel N. and Christine Berlet Zahn. She married Robert W. Cummins on June 24, 1932 in Augusta, IL, he died November 16, 1958. On December 28, 1969 she married Eugene C. Moore who died July 25, 1980.
Surviving are one son, Robert W. (Mary) Cummins, Fairbury and one daughter Margaret (Jerry) Toth, Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Michael (Christa) Leman, Ashburn, VA, Eric (Barbara) Leman, Columbus, OH, Glenn Toth, Reno, NV, Mark Toth, Missoula, MT, Barbara (Dean) Hartley, Naperville, IL, William (Sally) Cummins, Normal, IL, and Susan (Robert Zecca) Spence, Fairbury, IL; nine great grandchildren: Erica Leman, Andrew Leman, Elizabeth Leman, Ben Leman, Rebecca Hartley, Megan Cummins, Sara Cummins, Bryan (Jessica) Spence and Bridget Spence; and one great great granddaughter: Zoe Spence.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Bohmilla Zahn Beedle.
Luetta was a member of the United Methodist Church. She had been a church organist and choir director for 50 years serving congregations in St. Anne, Fairbury and Forrest. She was a 1932 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University obtaining a B.A. of Music Education. She also obtained an Elementary Education degree from Illinois State University. She taught music for 25 years at St. Anne, Fairbury and Forrest and later taught special education in the Forrest-Strawn-Wing school district.
Private graveside inurnment will be held at Lyman Cemetery, Roberts, IL at a later date.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests memorials be made to Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury or the United Methodist Church, Forrest.
