Obituary

Lynn E. Gardner, 90, of Chenoa died at 8:30 am Monday, July 14, 2008 at Meadows Mennonite Home, Chenoa.

His funeral service will be at 10:00 am Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Chenoa Baptist Church with Pastor Christian Ricker officiating. Burial will be in Gridley Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Davis-Kerber American Legion, Colfax. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. The family suggests memorials be given to the Chenoa Baptist Church.

Mr. Gardner was born May 11, 1918 in Gridley, IL, the son of David and Mary Klein Gardner. He married Vina L. Vaughn October 8, 1944 in Seattle, WA. She survives in Chenoa. Also surviving are two daughters, Lois (Dan) Thompson and Carol (Ron) Charlson, both of Lexington, one brother, Dale (Darlene) Gardner, Lexington, one sister, June Barling, Normal, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Mr. Gardner served in the US Army during WWII. He farmed in the Colfax and Lexington area and was a member of the Chenoa Baptist Church and the Davis-Kerber American Legion Post.
