Obituary

Marcella Catherine Oltman, 83, of Chenoa died at 9:50 am Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Meadows Mennonite Home, Chenoa.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Chenoa with Fr. Carl LoPresti officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 to 10:45 am Saturday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Oltman was born January 11, 1925 in Chicago the daughter of C.T. and Marcella C. Frederick Hoselton. She married John Oltman Sr. on August 2, 1942 in Missouri. He survives in Chenoa.

Also surviving are two sons, John H. (Patricia) Oltman Jr., Pontiac, Edward P. (Barbara) Oltman, Symra, TN, one daughter, Pamela J. Freese, Brentwood, TN, seven grandchildren, David P. Freese, Todd Offill, Trent Offill, Hope Herzog, Carree Oltman, Ryan Oltman, and Chad Oltman, and fourteen great grandchildren. Three brothers C.T. (Nancy) Hoselton, Pontiac, Stanley (Gaye) Hoselton, Lexington and Raymond (Sharon) Hoselton, Chenoa.

She is preceded in death by one grandson.

Mrs. Oltman had been employed at J.C. Penny's of Pontiac as a management accountant. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Chenoa and past president of its Altar & Rosary Society. She belonged to the PTA of the Chenoa school systems, the daughters of foreign wars, was an officer with the women of Moose, was a 4-H leader in Pike Township for fourteen years and was the secretary of Illinois Association for Aging.

Mrs. Oltman loved crafts and did stained glass and ceramics. She made porcelain dolls and gave sewing lessons. She also helped her husband with the farming activities for many years.

The family suggests memorials be given to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
