Colfax – Marilyn Daniels, 72, of Colfax, passed away at 5:44pm, October 31, 2014 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Funeral will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax.
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lexington.
Visitation will be held from 4-7:00pm, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 also at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Ridgeview Athletic Boosters.
Marilyn was born June 5, 1942 in Colfax, the daughter of Stanley "Bud" and Margaret Heck Slown.
She married James Daniels on May 8, 1976. He survives.
Also surviving are her children, Scott (Pam) Anderson of Sarasota, FL, Troy (Lorna) Anderson of Normal, Elizabeth Daniels, Chris (Sloan) Daniels, Jody Anderson all of Bloomington, and Stacy Ward of Colfax; 14 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Dick (Eloyce) Slown of Lexington; and sister, Florence (Raymond) Weber of OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
Marilyn graduated from Lexington High School in 1960. She was last employed by State Farm Insurance Companies and prior to that by Kaiser Ag Chemicals in Sullivan.
She was a member of the Newcomers Club and First United Methodist Church in Sullivan She attended East View Christian Church, Bloomington.
Marilyn was known as "Grams" to many people and friends and was loved very dearly by all.
Grams was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed golfing and bowling. She loved watching her children and grandchildren play most of all.
