Colfax – Marilyn June Monroe, 76, of Colfax, passed away at 3:06am, August 13, 2016, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Her funeral will be at 11:00am, Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Pastor Edward Huddelson will be officiating. Entombment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue. Marilyn was born January 20, 1940, in Bloomington, the daughter of Alvin and Evelyn Kieper Beecher. She married James Monroe on February 12, 1960. He survives. Also surviving are her sons, Kenneth Monroe of Pontiac and Kerry (Stephanie) Monroe of Broken Arrow, OK; son-in-law, Mark Wiewel of Quincy; grandchildren, Caroline Wiewel, Anthony Wiewel, Amber Monroe, Stephanie Wiewel, Kyle Monroe, Matt Wiewel, Tyler Goggans, Mark Wiewel, Madison Monroe; brother Donald (Jeanne) Beecher of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Wiewel. Marilyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chenoa.
