Forrest, Illinois - Marilyn J. Roth, 73, Forrest, died at 6:45 pm Friday, June 20, 2014 at Gibson City Area Hospital Annex.

The memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, with Pastor Silas Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Township Cemetery, Forrest.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, June 23, 2014 and 9:00 to 9:45 am Tuesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial offerings be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Missionary Fund at Christian Bible Church, Cissna Park, Illinois.

Mrs. Roth was born on December 25, 1940, in Watseka, IL the daughter of John and Clara (Schupbach) Kaufman. She married Leonard J. Roth on June 7, 1964, in Rankin, Illinois. He survives.

Also surviving are two children; Doug (Jody) Roth, New Palestine IN; and Cathy Roth, Austin, TX; four grandchildren; Katherine, Jacob, Lincoln and Elizabeth Roth, New Palestine IN; and one brother Ron (Alta Kay) Kaufman, Peoria, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Elaine.

Mrs. Roth was a graduate of East Lynn High School and Illinois State University. She taught elementary education in Herscher and Chatsworth, and preschool education at the Forrest Area Nursery School. She and her husband, Leonard, have been lifetime farmers, and she enjoyed gardening. She was a PUFL member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed the Lord's blessings at Christian Bible Church.
