Fairbury – Marion Dale Meiss, 78, of Fairbury, passed away at 8:38pm, Monday, May 13, 2013 at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

Funeral will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury. Ministers of the church will be officiating.

Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be from 4-8:00pm, Friday, May 17, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9-9:45am at the church on Saturday.

Memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Good Samaritan Fund or the donor's choice of charity.

Marion was born October 18, 1934, in Fairbury the son of Eli and Della Metz Meiss.

He married Barbara Ann Pratt on July 19, 1980 in Forrest. She died February 9, 2008.

Those who will miss him the most, two sons, Jack O. Montgomery of Fairbury and Adrian A. (Jaron) Montgomery of Aurora; daughter, Peggy M. (Marty) Whitson of St. Charles; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Carlos (Jane) Meiss; sisters, Dolores (Warren) Zehr and Rosemary (John) Hartman all of Fairbury.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents, one son Kinnith Montgomery, and his twin brother, Maurice D. Meiss.

Marion was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Fairbury.

He dearly loved farming, his family, many relatives, friends, and his Fairbury community. Most of all he loved his Lord and Savior, and his church.
