Obituary
Marjorie E. Shilts, 97, Fairbury died 9:52 am Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church, Fairbury with the Rev. Spencer Homan officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and noon to 12:45 pm Saturday at the church.
Miss Shilts was born May 27, 1909 at Melvin, IL. The daughter of Clyde Edward and Mary Elizabeth Jardine Shilts.
Surviving are one niece, Joanne (Steve) McCoin, Bloomington, one nephew, John (Cindy Hurt) Shilts, Fairbury, two great nieces Barbara (Jim) Boyd, Marseilles, and Debbie (Bill) Hert, Streator. Also surviving are 20 great great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 niece.
Miss Shilts was a 1928 graduate of Fairbury Twp. High School. Marjorie was a mainstay in downtown Fairbury for over 59 years having been employed at Honegger's Inc, Feldman's Clothing, Stan's Clothing and Zimmerman's Hardware Store. She retired in 1988. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fairbury and had been honored as the Grand Marshall of the Fairbury Christmas parade in 1993.
The family suggests memorials be given to the First Presbyterian Church or to SELCAS.
